Depuis 1990 à aujourd’hui la Journée mondiale de la population est célébrée chaque année le 11 juillet. Elle est un appel à la sensibilisation et à l’action pour l’opinion publique par rapport aux questions relatives à la population mondiale. C’est l’occasion de mettre en lumière des dilemmes tels que la croissance démographique mondial, l’accès aux services de santé reproductive et les droits des femmes 

Cette journée vise à sensibiliser le public et à encourager les gouvernements, les organisations et les individus à prendre des mesures pour répondre aux besoins et aux droits des populations du monde entier. Selon l’Institut Haïtien de Statistique et d’Informatique (IHSI), la population mondiale est d’environ 7,9 milliards de personnes en 2024 et ne cesse de croître.

Cette poussée de croissance démographique  pose des défis significatifs, notamment en matière de sécurité alimentaire, d’accès à l’éducation, de santé et de développement durable. Cependant, elle offre également des opportunités économiques et culturelles, mettant en avant la diversité et le dynamisme des sociétés à travers le globe. Elle promet aussi aux jeunes entrepreneurs un public nombreux pour leur activité entrepreneurial respective augmentant ainsi la consommation de leurs produits et services.

Santé Reproductive et Droits des Femmes

Deux aspects importants de la Journée Mondiale de la Population qui fait la promotion de la santé reproductive et des droits connexes, y compris l’accès universel à des services de planification familiale efficaces et sans danger. La liberté financière et l’autonomie des femmes et des filles est essentielle pour assurer des choix informés et la possibilité de décider du moment et du nombre d’enfants qu’elles souhaitent avoir, renforçant ainsi leur autonomie et leur bien-être.

Partons d’un même chemin : vers un Avenir meilleure et durable.

Pour contrecarrer  les défis posés par la croissance démographique, il est impératif que les gouvernements, les organisations non gouvernementales et la société civile collaborent étroitement. Investir dans l’éducation, la santé, l’emploi décent et les infrastructures est essentiel pour bâtir des communautés résilientes et prospères.

En cette Journée Mondiale de la Population, kikote Ayiti lance un appel à l’engagement de chacun dans la promotion de politiques et de programmes qui respectent les droits humains fondamentaux et qui répondent aux besoins et attentes des populations du monde entier. 

C’est dans l’union que nous pouvons bâtir  un avenir où chaque individu aura la possibilité de réaliser son rêve et d’atteindre son plein potentiel, contribuant ainsi à un mode de vie plus équitable et durable pour tous.

Ensemble, commençons le changement. Célébrons la journée mondial de la population  et agissons pour un avenir des plus radieux.
